Old buildings are architectural relics full of photographic opportunities. The building that once housed people or equipment now provides artistic fodder for shutterbugs like myself. Or have you ever walked around a city and just looked up? Try it sometime. There is something unique about what is above our normal line of sight: tall buildings, reflections, bright colors, stark contrast. It’s all there. In my architectural photographs I like to move viewers towards a point in the distance somewhere, whether it is off to the side, into the back, or up to the top – all of which is about moving the eye, much the same as you do when you’re experiencing a new place for the first time.
