In 1972...
I was born
to Craig and Barbara Hosterman. A cute tyke, I gave them plenty of
joy in the early days. Until I learned to crawl. And then
walk. Oh, and talk too. |

And Now Today...
I'm a college
professor and Area Coordinator for Communication Arts at
IU South Bend. I'm also an
amateur photographer and a dedicated and loving husband.

Photo Basics...
I bought my first SLR in
1995. It was an Olympus OM-10 and it served me well for many years.
I learned the basics, making sure to take it with me everywhere I went.
I became the paparazzi of my class in graduate school. Around 1999, I
graduated to a Canon EOS Elan system and then finally an Elan II a few years
later. Now, whenever there's an event at school, family function, or
just an opportunity for a good shot I always have my camera with me to
record the event.
A College
Professor, You Say...
Apart from my beautiful wife, what supports me and my photographic endeavors
is my full time job as a Communication professor. I'm part of the
Communication Arts faculty at the
Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts at
IU South Bend (the third largest satellite campus of
the Indiana University system). Sounds like a fancy title,
right? Here's the abridged version: I teach college for a
living. Here are a few of my courses:
- Visual Communication
- Persuasion
- Public Relations
- Deception, Hoaxes and Cons
- Argumentation
In addition to my teaching, I
also do seminars on identity theft, deception, and improving communication
skills for local businesses, social groups, and not-for-profit agencies.
